The measurement platform built for scaled ecommerce brands, not for affiliates: multi-touch attribution, media-mix modeling, and a direct pipe of first-party conversion data back to Meta and AppLovin. It is real and well regarded, but it is priced for brands already spending six or seven figures a month, and its numbers are a directional cross-channel read, not a single source of truth.
It is at its best for scaled dtc ecommerce brands. That is the lens the rest of this review uses: not whether it is the biggest tool on the market, but whether it is the right one for that operator.
What Northbeam is
Northbeam is a marketing measurement platform built for scaled direct-to-consumer ecommerce. It is not a redirect or click tracker in the mould of the other tools on this page. Where those route ad clicks to offers and read conversions back over postbacks, Northbeam sits over your whole paid-media mix and answers a different question: across Meta, Google, TikTok, YouTube, email and the rest, which channels and creatives are actually driving new revenue, and which are taking credit for sales that would have happened anyway.
Three things do that work. Multi-touch attribution stitches every touchpoint on a customer journey into one first-party view, with lookback windows long enough to credit top-of-funnel ads that pay off weeks later. Media Mix Modeling Plus forecasts revenue by budget scenario and measures the spend that clicks alone cannot see, including retail and seasonality. Northbeam Apex feeds that first-party conversion data back into Meta and AppLovin ad algorithms, a layer past a standard conversions API, so the platforms optimize on Northbeam's read of what converted.
Is it real, and who will regret buying it
It is real. Northbeam reports more than 1,000 customers, names case studies from brands like Dr. Squatch, HexClad and Timex, and is one of the two or three names scaled ecommerce teams reach for when platform ROAS stops adding up. On Reddit it sits in the same short list as Rockerbox and Triple Whale for serious brands.
The regret is almost always about spend level, not the product. Buyers put the real cost around $30,000 to $50,000 a year, and the repeated verdict is that it only pays back at high six or seven-figure monthly ad spend. One media buyer put it plainly: it is enterprise level, so unless you get that back in optimization, it is not a good fit. Below that, the standard advice is to fix tracking first. Clean UTMs, server-side events, GA4 and blended metrics like MER and new-customer CAC cover most of the value for a fraction of the price. If you are spending a few thousand a month, or on a single channel, it is more tool than the decision warrants.
Why your numbers will not match Meta, and why that is the point
Expect Northbeam to report fewer conversions than Meta or Google, sometimes far fewer. That is not a bug. The platforms count a sale if someone clicked inside a window or merely viewed an ad and later bought, and each one claims the same order. Northbeam applies one independent, first-party model across all of them. The gap between the two is the over-attribution you are paying to see.
What that means in practice: it is a directional decision layer, not a single source of truth. Reconcile it against backend revenue in Shopify, keep your attribution windows consistent when you compare, and treat it as the cross-channel read rather than the last word. Setup matters too. Northbeam's own docs require its tracking parameters on every ad and warn that plain utm_source tags are not enough for ad-level attribution, and that those parameters have to survive any advertorial or off-domain page before the pixel fires. Skip that and the tool under-reports through no fault of its model.
How it compares
Its real peers are the ecommerce measurement suites: Rockerbox and Triple Whale, plus Polar Analytics at the lighter end. On this site the closest tool is Hyros, and the split is clean. Hyros is owned-funnel revenue attribution for high-ticket, webinar and call funnels where much of the revenue arrives late and offline. Northbeam does cross-channel attribution and budget forecasting for ecommerce brands buying across many platforms. If you sell physical products on Shopify at scale, Northbeam fits better; if you sell high-ticket coaching by booked call, Hyros does.
